USB port issues on Acer Aspire Z, Number Z!-621

Two of the installed female USB ports appear to be inoperative.
What has happened?

How do they fix, or get it fixed?
My computer is an Acer Aspire Z, Number Z!-621
I am coping with an ultra hub.

But I wonder if I am overloading the connection where the hub is plugged in.
Any ideas.

It is a good idea to use powered USB hubs. USB port has not enough power for a few devices to run. It puts stress on it and there are most likely fuses that protect from overload.

If USB ports are broken, then they will, of course, need to be replaced (if they are on a laptop motherboard so some soldering will be involved).

If the USB port does not work but aren't broken then most likely fuses are blown and need to be replaced (also a procedure involving laptop disassembly and soldering).
