The Trap

Hello, my friend. If you’re listening to this, I know you’re in trouble. I’m guessing you can’t leave this planet… Don’t waste your fuel. I’ll help you. Sadly, I’m not even here anymore… but I’ll still help you.
This day is special to me — the 28th of May, 3001. I’ve decided to stop trying. There’s no way for me to get off this planet.
But you… you still have a chance.

So… what the hell is this planet?
I suspect it was some kind of research site, set up by who knows who. I’ve found inscriptions on the equipment, but I’ve never seen anything like it before. Definitely not Thargoids or Guardians. The tech is different.
All that tech is scattered across the planet. There’s a grid of cables running for miles, buried about 40 meters deep.
That grid generates a magnetic field. That’s why we can’t escape the planet.
I tried cutting those lines. It worked for about a week or so. But it’s very resource-consuming, and I don’t have the right tools for the job.
I’d use a nuke if I had one. Unfortunately, the explosives I’ve got are nowhere near enough.
So… that’s that.

Now, I’ve left my ship unlocked. Go there. Strip it of thrusters, and use them on your own ship.
If you’ve got a Python, you might just make it.
If you have an Anaconda, I doubt it’ll work… but you can cut out some parts and try.

I do not know if I should make these logs at all…
Tried today to get to orbit and failed. Actually, I can’t even lift the ship 100 meters…
What the hell is this planet…

Anyway, I do not really know what is going on. It seems the thrusters lose power as soon as my ship reaches 50 meters. What tech can cause this sort of thing?
There is a building nearby… It looks like a shed… No one is there… Inside, a few lights are going off and on. There is a panel and a few buttons with inscriptions. I’ve never seen writing like this. It looks like modified Guardian writing, if you know those.
I tried to translate some of the writing. Nothing meaningful… It could be just a decoy to confuse someone…
This afternoon I will see where those massive cables from the shed go…

I took my tools and followed those cables… They go underground and straight down for… 40 meters. Had to drill through. I think I hit one of the cables because smoke appeared. Went back into the shed and now a few new lights have appeared, flashing. So it seems it knows I’m trying to tinker with it…
Had a break this afternoon. Was thinking it would be much easier if I had a team here. However, I don’t want anyone to end up here. I have a bad feeling about this place. I think I translated some writing. One says “Fusion Power Generator State.”
